Community Mobilization & Sensitization
Empowering communities to lead and own their development process through participation, inclusion, accountability, and local ownership.
Overview
At Lifewater Community Kenya, we believe that sustainable development is achieved when communities are empowered to lead and own their development process. Our approach is founded on the principles of participation, inclusion, accountability, and local ownership, ensuring that every intervention is driven by the priorities, knowledge, and aspirations of the communities we serve.
LCK mobilizes communities through community group meetings, participatory workshops, and public barazas (Chief's meetings), creating inclusive platforms where women, men, youth, persons with disabilities, community leaders, and other stakeholders openly discuss the challenges affecting their lives and collectively identify practical, sustainable solutions.
Before any project is designed or implemented, LCK facilitates participatory community needs assessments to enable communities to identify, prioritize, and analyze their most pressing development challenges. Rather than imposing externally determined solutions, we work alongside community members to develop interventions that reflect local priorities, culture, and available resources.
