Water and Sanitation
Creating healthier communities where children, women, and families can live in a clean and safe environment that supports dignity, good health, and sustainable development.
Overview
Since its establishment in 2022, Lifewater Community Kenya (LCK) has promoted community-based, sustainable, and low-cost solutions to improve access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) services in Kabondo East Ward, Homa Bay County.
Access to safe water remains one of the greatest challenges facing many rural communities. Women and children often walk long distances to collect water from unsafe sources, exposing families to waterborne diseases while reducing the time available for education, income-generating activities, and childcare.
One of LCK's most significant achievements since its inception has been the successful construction of 10 community water wells, providing reliable access to clean and safe drinking water for hundreds of households. The organization is also rehabilitating an additional 30 existing wells to restore sustainable water access in underserved communities.
