Word from the Programme Director

Dear Partners, Donors, Supporters, and Community Members,

It is my pleasure to share the remarkable progress that Lifewater Community Kenya continues to make in transforming lives through sustainable community development programmes.

Our programmes are driven by a simple but powerful belief: every person deserves access to safe water, good health, sustainable livelihoods, and the opportunity to live with dignity. We work closely with communities to design and implement interventions that address their most pressing needs while strengthening local capacity to sustain these achievements for generations to come.

As Programme Director, I am proud of the dedication and professionalism of our programme teams, community volunteers, and partners who work tirelessly to deliver quality, accountable, and impactful interventions. We are committed to ensuring that every project is community-led, evidence-based, inclusive, and aligned with both national development priorities and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

One of our most significant achievements has been expanding access to safe water in Homa Bay County. In 2024, Lifewater Community Kenya successfully constructed ten (10) community water wells, providing reliable sources of clean water to hundreds of households. Building on this success, we are currently rehabilitating thirty (30) previously uncompleted community water wells in Kabondo East Ward, Kasipul Constituency, Homa Bay County, through our valued partnership with African Well Fund (USA). These projects are reducing the burden of water collection, improving public health, enhancing sanitation and hygiene, supporting education, and strengthening local livelihoods.

Beyond water infrastructure, our programmes emphasize community ownership, capacity building, environmental sustainability, gender equality, and resilience. We establish and train community water management committees, promote good hygiene practices, and encourage local participation to ensure that every intervention remains functional and beneficial long after project completion.

"At Lifewater Community Kenya, we measure success not only by the number of projects implemented but by the lasting improvements in the lives of the people we serve."

With sincere appreciation,
Jemimah Akinyi
